If you've ever used the web, you know that online links sometimes break. Let us know if any library links are not functioning!
To use Library resources away from campus, Channel Islands students and faculty need to authenticate with the Library's proxy server, using one of the following options:
The simplest way to access library resources is to start in OneSearch or the Library Research Guides and follow prompts to log in with your CI credentials. Once you sign in, your session will remain active until you completely exit your browser, and you will be able to access any digital resources to which the library subscribes.
Drag the ProxyCI button to your browser's bookmarks bar. Then click it to reload any content provider's page through the Library's proxy server for authentication.
Our proxy prefix (paste before the website): https://login.ezproxy.csuci.edu/login?url=
For example, JSTOR (https://www.jstor.org/) will become https://login.ezproxy.csuci.edu/login?url=https://www.jstor.org/
The edited web address should prompt your browser to request CI authentication for access.
The following content providers allow for authentication via Institution on their own platforms. Follow the platform instructions to log in by selecting Channel Islands Broome Library:
Google Scholar also enables redirection through the Library's proxy server. If you use Scholar, we recommend that you update your Library Links to enable authentication to subscribed resources. After logging in to Google Scholar, click on these customized CI Library settings, then click Save. Google should remember your profile and allow future access to library-subscribed resources.
If the links above aren't working, you can manually enable Channel Islands for your Library Links by:
Google Scholar will indicate if a resource is available through the library via "Get it @ Broome Library" on the right hand side of any search results page. Scholar also does a good job of indicating whether a particular resource is available Open Access.
