BLACK LIVES MATTER

As a library and as a community, we honor and mourn the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others, killed by racist actions that serve institutional and systemic racism in the United States. We affirm that Black Lives Matter and support the right to protest and rise up against injustice, dehumanization and threats against life.

We are in a time of national reflection on police violence, institutional and systemic racism, and social injustice, we recognize, as Martin Luther King, Jr. said, that an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We believe that it is our responsibility to reject racism in all forms and we reiterate our commitment to be anti-racist in our actions, and to identify and provide access to reputable sources of news, data, and information.
