Broome Library provides the New York Times & the Chronicle of Higher Education to the Channel Islands community.
Once registered, users may access NYTimes.com and its mobile application from any location, using their school email address.
Please follow these four steps to register:
Step 1: Navigate to www.accessnyt.com
Step 2: Search for and select "California State University - Channel Islands, Camarillo, CA”
You will be redirected to the NYT registration page.
Step 3: Click "Create Account" and complete fields; you must use your @csuci.edu or myci.csuci.edu email.
Step 4: Verify your account (you will receive a confirmation email) *
* The confirmation email may be routed to your spam folder. You must click the link in this email to complete the registration.
Existing New York Times ID
If you have previously registered your @edu email address on The New York Times site, you will click the "Already have an account?" link found below "Create Account" and log in with the same school issued email address and password previously registered.
After an account is verified, users can use it to log in anywhere, from any device, on the NYT mobile app, etc.
Faculty/staff will have 4 years of full account access, after which you must re-authenticate by visiting www.accessnyt.com Students will have access until 12/31 of the graduation year you choose.

The Chronicle of Higher Education can be accessed from on-campus via Chronicle.com and off-campus through this proxied link.
Domain access allows students, faculty, and staff to create a free account using your institutional email address, which syncs with our institution’s site license. This account enables full access to Chronicle.com from any device. Additionally, account holders can sign up to receive our free newsletters for the latest news stories and commentary on higher ed.
Please follow these three steps to register:
Step 1: Go to Chronicle.com and click on the “Sign In” link at top, right-hand side of the page.
Step 2: Click on the “Sign Up” link to create a free account using your @csuci.edu or @myci.csuci.edu email address.
Step 3: Activate your account by confirming your email address in the “The Chronicle: Confirm your email address” email. Remember to check your spam folder if you don't see the email.
