Data & Statistics

A guide to both publicly available and CSUCI-affiliated data and statistics.

How to Cite Data

Data and statistics must be cited like any other piece of information used in research, papers, or publications. Although there is no one way to cite data, be sure to include all of the information necessary for another researcher to access and use the data. All data citations should include:

  • Author (researcher, institution, or program that created the data)
  • Title
  • Distributor
  • Date
  • Version
  • Persistent Identifier (such as the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), Uniform Resource Name (URN) or Handle System)
